Course Description

In this presentation for the society of affective sciences, Dr. Matsumoto discusses broad conceptual issues in the field of emotion and expression in order to resolve previous controversies and point to the future.

Learning Objectives

(1) Provide a working overview of nervous system and to describe connections between its complex interconnectivity and NVB

(2) Describe the neuroanatomical connections between mental states and NVB

(3) Define an integrative, biocultural model of emotion that can hopefully resolve past conflicts in the field and provide a roadmap for future theory and research

Dr. David Matsumoto is a Professor of Psychology at San Francisco State University and world-renowned expert in the field of emotion, culture, and nonverbal behavior. He has published over 400 books, book chapters, and journal articles on these subjects.

Recorded video format (non-interactive). Total running time 30 minutes that is accompanied by supplemental readings.

Completion Requirements:

To obtain your CE certificate, you must progress through all course segments and readings, and obtain a score of 80% or higher on a post-test. Users will have a maximum of 3 attempts to complete the post-test at 80% proficiency.

After watching course video and supplemental reading, the post-test will be available to complete, along the course evaluation.
