A Mother’s Emotional Plea

Take a look at the video below for a mother’s emotional appeal to find her missing daughter.

Without knowing anything about the case, do you find her nonverbal behavior consistent with her words?

Always remembers, in order to understand what a liar looks like, you also have to understand what a truth-teller looks like.

  1. No baseline but give the emotional appeal there is a lack of reliable muscles to indicate grief, fear or anger. The words are stated with emotion but the reliable muscles are not present to confirm the emotion. Everybody expresses grief differently, however there are some inconsistencies and red flags here that may bear investigation.

  2. She seems truthful to me (there is quite some emotion in her voice…).
    So what’s the “answer”? 🙂
