KeyC TV an affiliate of Fox television has reported on the newest type of “humaniod”, an Italian robot that mimics the muscle movements that are involved in human facial expressions.
A team of Italian engineers have created the FACE an android that uses 32 motors to replicate facial expressions of emotion such as disgust, fear and sadness.
In a related past blog, Humintell noted the progress of Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, in creating life like facial expressions and voice simulation in a what they refer to as a humaniod. This blog is accompanied by a video.
