Are humans closely related to fish? Well according to BBC News, new scans of human embryos suggest that this is the case.
The early human embryo looks very similar to the embryo of any other mammal all of which have evolved from fish.
They outline some of the similarities between the two species: The eyes start out at the side of the head and as we develop further, in humans, they continue to move into the middle of the head. The top lip as well as the jaw and palate rotate from the neck where they originated as gill-like structures and our nostrils come down from the top of our heads.
