Charlie Sheen’s Body Language

If you have been following the news recently, you have likely heard the rants coming from Hollywood Actor Charlie Sheen.

In a recent prime time interview on 20/20, Sheen answered a series of questions about his personal life, work and drug use. His behavior was erratic- he seemed irritated and at unease.

Compare the 2 videos below to analyze Sheen’s behavior.

The first is an interview he did with Conan O’Brien back in 2005. The second, the recent 20/20 interview that aired this week. Notice the changes in demeanor and body language.

  1. That’s a pretty frightening change in demeanor between the two interviews. He seems to be in denial about his condition. His father is right to worry about him.

    That said, there were a few troubling things in the Conan interview as well. While there is a dramatic change in demeanor between these two interviews, there is also a tremendous consistency of his personality between the two. I have a difficult time articulating it, but I can see it. The best I can describe at the moment is that there’s an underlying sense of Charlie not “being grounded” between both interviews. It’s as if he’s a boat adrift at sea without an anchor, and when the seas get rough, he’s in danger of being smashed apart against the reefs and rocks.

    I feel bad for him, but I’m not sure there’s anything that could be done to help him without his agreement. I only hope no one gets hurt out of all this. It’s sad.
